Many organizations have found Teleworking / Telecommuting to be a valuable productivity practice for their bottom line. Many employees have found Teleworking / Telecommuting to have tremendous benefits over working from a central office.

This survey is designed to gain a perspective on how Teleworking / Telecommuting has been implemented in an organization and how the program has served both the employee and the employer.

This survey also serves to provide those who are considering Teleworking / Telecommuting programs within their organization a bit of insight on what and what not to do to ensure they have a successful rollout.

Finally this survey will provide those who already have a Teleworking / Telecommuting program in place some ideas on how to make theirs an even better one.

Some positive findings from Teleworking initiatives:

• "In 2002 AT&T reported it saved more than $100 million due to telework."
• "Bradford Council benefits staff, who process all claims electronically achieved an 11-38% productivity improvement with an overall average gain of 25%, compared to non-teleworkers. Teleworkers had an 80% reduction in absenteeism rates, and reported increased job satisfaction and quality of life."
• "Employers are embracing telework to protect against discontinuity of operations. Similar to earthquakes in California, anthrax in Washington DC, 9/11, hurricanes, snow storms, floods and other natural disaster can prevent workers vital to business and government operations from physically traveling to central work locations. Telework provides public and private organizations with continuity of operations in circumstances where workers cannot physically travel to central work locations."
